What to Bring In

To make the stay more comfortable, homey, and induce a feeling of security and familiarity you may want to bring in a few items from home.

Some of the most common and suggested items include:

  • Comfortable clothing: Clothing should be comfortable to wear, easy to put on and take off, washable, right for the season, and safe…nothing to trip on.
  • Clothing for nighttime: Appropriate nightwear including pajamas, nightgowns, and robes.
  • Appropriate shoes:  While Crescent Health Care provides slipper-socks for in-house use, comfortable shoes that can be worn indoors or out should also be brought in.  Slippers, preferably with non-slip soles.
  • Personal hygiene items: While everything is available at Crescent Health Care, if you prefer a certain toothpaste or a favorite shave cream you are certainly welcome to bring it in.  Note:  Aerosol cans are not allowed at the facility.
  • Personal entertainment: While we offer a full range of crafts and activities you may want to bring along your own favorite craft items, books and magazines.  You may even receive subscriptions to magazines while here.  Television and radio cable/hookups are available.  Note:  Federal law prohibits use of surge protectors.  Power strips and extension cords are provided by Crescent Health Care.

You are also invited to bring comfortable blankets, comforters, quilts or a favorite pillow from home. Family photos that can be placed on shelves or bedside tables are welcome.  While room space may be limited, one may also choose to bring in a favorite chair or ones own dresser.
